I&#x27;m having trouble getting started - what should I do?

Support for the Android Do Not Disturb Permission was introduced with the release of G6 Android app version 1.9.0. Safety is Dexcom&#x27;s top priority, so this new app permission is required.

What is the Android Do Not Disturb Permission?

Yes, the Dexcom G6 app will be available for free download in the Google Play and Apple App Stores. The Dexcom G5 Mobile App will not work with a G6 System and vice versa.

Is there a new app for the G6?

With the Dexcom G6 app version 1.9 and later, you can ask Siri to recite your Dexcom glucose readings out loud and display your graph directly on the lock screen.

How do I set up Siri on the G6 app?

We understand you may be concerned about granting this permission, but Dexcom does not use this permission to track your location. The Android Bluetooth implementation we use requires you to give us this level of Location Permission.

Why does the G6 Android app ask for Location Permission?

The Dexcom G6 app has to be downloaded and is different from the Dexcom G5 Mobile app. (Please note: The G6 system will not work with the G5 Mobile app.) It is available for free from the Apple App or Google Play stores. The app is named &quot;Dexcom G6&quot;.

How do I set up the Dexcom G6 with my phone?

No. The new Dexcom G6 CGM system is designed to eliminate the need for fingerstick calibrations* and can be used for 10 days without restart.

Can the sensor be restarted after 10 days?

Your phone settings can prevent the Dexcom Follow app from working. Learn more about the settings that will allow your app to work as expected. App PauseOn Android 10 and above, Pause temporarily disables apps.

What are the recommended Android phone settings?

Each year we assess whether to keep supporting older Operating Systems (OS) for Dexcom apps. 

Why am I being asked to update my phone&#x27;s operating system (OS) to continue getting Dexcom app updates?

A variety of iOS and Android smart devices are compatible with G6. Compatibility is listed here: www.dexcom.com/compatibility

What smart devices are compatible with the G6?

The latest Follow release contains important updates to the app that improve user experience and enable Dexcom to better serve its customers.

Why was I asked to update my Dexcom Follow app?

Yes, G6 does work with Clarity. Patients will not need to register again. If you are already sharing with your clinic, the clinic will not need to reconnect.

Will Dexcom Clarity work with G6?

A new Dexcom patient will receive the Dexcom G6 system including a transmitter and sensors. An optional touch screen receiver is available as well. If you decide to use a compatible smart device, you will need to download the new Dexcom G6 app.

What components are required with the new G6 system?

You have the option to use only the app, only the receiver, or both at the same time.

Do I need to use my receiver? 

Yes, you&#x27;ll need to put in the sensor code from the sensor each time you start a new one. The sensor code is found on the bottom of the applicator on the adhesive strip.

Do I have to put the sensor code in every time I start a new sensor?

Yes, the Follow App works the same way as it did with the Dexcom G5 Mobile. New followers - Download the Dexcom Follow app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Does the Follow App work with G6?

Yes, Dexcom G6 is indicated for children as young as 2 years old.

Is this product approved for Pediatrics?

The Dexcom G6 sensor is approved to be worn up to 10 days.

How long can I wear the sensor?

At this time, Dexcom will not have a recycling program. Dexcom recommends that users dispose of the used applicator following local guidelines for blood containing components.

Is Dexcom G6 available in my country?

In order to receive and see your Dexcom CGM data in Dexcom Clarity and your third-party apps and devices (e.g. Glooko app), please ensure the following settings

Why am I not seeing data in Dexcom Clarity or in my third-party application?

Login issues can be caused by having the incorrect country or region selected in your smartphone settings. Within smartphone settings, set the Region (iOS) and Language/Region (Android) to match your Dexcom account then, reinstall the Dexcom Clarity app and try again.

Why do I see &quot;username or password are incorrect&quot; when I try to log into the Dexcom Clarity app on my smartphone?

Your phone settings can prevent the Dexcom Follow app from working. Learn more about the settings that will allow your app to work as expected.

What are the recommended iPhone settings?
